Building Infrastructure

The Department is housed in modern building facilities located in the settlement of Psathaki, within walking distance of the center of Preveza. Specifically, it is a two-storey building with an area of 4,270 m2, which adequately meets the educational and scientific requirements of the Department, as it comprises:

  • Ten (10) classrooms and three (3) amphitheaters in which teachers have the opportunity to use various teaching aids, such as video projectors, audio and microphone installations. The central amphitheater is used for workshops, seminars and conferences.
  • Six (6) Computer laboratories of that are used for the training of students, but also in the context of the wider educational and administrative operation of the Department. The laboratories have a permanent connection to the internet and the Library of the University of Ioannina at the Preveza Branch. Students of the department can use specialized Business Resource Management (ERP) software, statistical and econometric analysis software (SPSS, Lindap, etc.), as well as the business database (tCAP DATAPRtSMA), with access from the computers of the Laboratories and the Library. There is also a Conference room with advanced technology equipment for the general assemblies of the department.
  • The Library at Preveza has been housed since 2009 in an area of 175 m2 in the new facilities of the University Campus in the area of Psathaki. It has 15 reading slots for its users and 8 PC slots as well as a photocopier which works with a magnetic card. The Library collection consists of approximately 13,750 volumes of books, 62 magazine titles (48 Greek and 14 foreign languages, some of which are provided on websites, while others have been indexed by the library staff), information material (e.g. dictionaries), audiovisual material (e.g. cd-rom), financial newspapers, bank brochures, studies, bachelor’s projects/ master’s theses and a small collection of literary works. The main purpose is to support the cognitive subjects of the Department of Accounting & Finance, and the studies at undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate level. At the same time, the Library is open to external users and visitors with specific terms.
